Common Bond Institute (CBI), HARMONY Institute for Psychotherapy and
Counseling, and the Association for Humanistic Psychology (AHP) are
grassroots
nonprofit NGOs that operate a major annual international conference in
addition to practical cross-cultural trainings in conflict
resolution/transformation at various locations in the world.

The 1999 Program is currently being developed and we continue to receive
presentation proposals. Samples will be posted in the near future, and after
March 5 the full program will be available. In the meantime the previous
conference program, a full list of endorsing and sponsoring organizations,
registration, and proposal forms, logistical details, and photos are

The Annual ICR Conference has been supported over the years by President
Clinton, President Yeltsin, St. Petersburg Governor Jakovlev, and is
endorsed
by over 50 organizations internationally. Participants have come from over
30
countries and all continents, providing excellent opportunities for
important
networking contacts with representatives of many organizations and
societies.
The official program languages are English and Russian. Interpreters are
assigned to each presentation and event, and are also available in the
general
conference milieu. The conference is held just outside St. Petersburg at a
Russian resort hotel located on the Finnish gulf. The site for the post-
conference program is a hotel more centrally located in St. Petersburg.
Historically, the ICR Conference has been funded solely by registrations.
All participants, including presenters, pay their own expenses for
attending.
Hard-currency registrations are used to help subsidize costs of participants
from economically impoverished societies around the world.

A multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural conference that has been supported by
President Clinton, President Yeltsin, St. Petersburg Governor Jakovlev, and
endorsed by 50 leading-edge organizations internationally - open to any
individuals interested in developing and practicing personal and
professional
skills in conflict resolution.
This joint US/Russian sponsored event FOCUSES ON all aspects of conflict
resolution and transformation, from the intrapersonal - to the interpersonal
-
to relationships between groups, organizations, cultures, and societies -
and
ultimately between us and other species.
PRESENTATIONS explore conflict resolution within diverse contexts,
including:
arts & creativity, cross-cultural, ecology, economics & business, education,
gender, global/regional conflict, health & healing arts,
organizational/community, psychotherapy, and transpersonal/spiritual.
Many opportunities are offered for hands-on practical skills training,
sharing
of programs and curriculums, intensive dialogues on theory and perceptions
of
conflict and resolution, networking and collaboration, and a powerful
intentional community experience. Participants have come from over 30
countries and all continents, providing excellent opportunities for
important
networking contacts with representatives of many organizations and
societies.
The program attracts individuals in key positions in their respective
societies who can model and teach these skills to many others.
6 DAYS of all-day institutes, workshops, roundtables, community meetings,
and
poster sessions. 50 day-program sessions, and a full slate of evening
activities and social / cultural events.
4 DAYS of pre- and post-conference professional visits and meetings, rich
cultural events, and tours in St. Petersburg.
