This promises to be an excellent event, and there are ways to plug in from
your own community.

National Town Meeting for a Sustainable America!
You're invited to the National Town Meeting for a Sustainable America!
Across America, communities, businesses and organizations are finding ways
to achieve economic prosperity and a high quality of life without
sacrificing our environmental or social goals. People and organizations
are working together to meet the needs of present generations without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
These sustainable projects and practices are working to create a better
today and tomorrow and are the focus of the upcoming National Town Meeting
for a Sustainable America to be held in Detroit, Michigan on May 2-5. This
event will spotlight successful sustainable actions that can be replicated
elsewhere. Simultaneous events will also occur in communities across
America and will connect with the Detroit meeting through interactive
technologies.
You are invited to become involved in the following ways:
1. Attend the National Town Meeting in Detroit.
2. Register an event for your organization or community to be listed as an
"affiliated event" happening across the country.
3. Showcase your business or community's work at the National Town Meeting
Exhibit Hall.
4. Make a commitment to sustainability, such as recycling, buying locally
grown organic food or forming a new partnership with a variety of
stakeholders to address the "livability" and quality of life needs of your
community. These commitments will be the building block of a Sustainable
America. Visit the web-site to make your commitment part of the national
movement.
Please visit the National Town Meeting web-site at
www.sustainableamerica.org to get more information, including financial
assistance opportunities. You may also call 1-888-333-6878 for
information. Please note that the registration fee deadline has been
extended until April 14th. Groups of five or more individuals registering
together, pay only $175 per person, which includes four meals! Visit the
web-site to get more informaiton on special airline fares and discount
hotel rates! Don't miss this exciting opportunity to be a part of creating
our future.
American tradition shows that the best new ideas and initiatives for
improving the quality of life for all Americans are generated in
neighborhoods, businesses and communities. Showcase what is working
locally, learn what's working elsewhere, make a commitment to our future --
