Announcement of the DAY OUT OF TIME FESTIVAL, 1999
The pace of world events quickens. The structures of the old order
dissolve amidst contradictions that no longer hold. The power of the new
frequency, "time is art," gathers its momentum. Soon the Sixth Year of
Prophecy will end and the final year of prophecy will commence. This will
be the most definitive period of time in human history. To assure the
advent of the new, the new must now be triumphantly established within the
dying remnants of the old. A great proclamation for establishing the new
has been sounded from Japan and is rapidly taking root there, and this is
the Day Out of Time Festival.
The clarion call for the Day Out of Time Festivals comes from Mr. Hirohide
Yanase, Entertainment Division, Dentsu Inc., who produced the Cosmic
Diary: From the Gregorian Calendar to the Thirteen Moon Calendar,
1998-2000. Already, Mr. Yanase is having a phenomenal response from a wide
range of Japanese artists and there now promises to be at least 100
simultaneous Day Out of Time Festivals in Japan alone. Mr. Yanase has
asked us to share this announcement to participate in the Day Out of Time
Festival world-wide, Red Rhythmic Skywalker, July 25, 1999. We urge you to
take to heart this proposal and see to it that there are thousands of Day
Out of Time Festivals around the planet. The Festival will sound the call
of the new time worldwide, manifesting for everyone the philosophy "time
is art" and demonstrating that Peace Through Culture is the way beyond
war. The rest of this Crystal Day Report will be excerpts of Mr. Yanase's
document about the Day Out of Time Festival:
On July 25, 1999, "Day Out of Time", people's spiritual levels will be
elevated through art. In that atmosphere, people will be emancipated from
third-dimensional time. I want to embrace the Earth with this "festival".
On July 25, 1999, artists with the spirit of the festival in their hearts,
will create a rich atmosphere through their "thoughts" and "art". We have
started working to create such locations throughout Japan and the world,
on the "Day Out of Time". Through art, spiritual levels will be exalted.
And within that space, people will be liberated from third-dimensional
time. On the "Day Out of Time", the overall spiritual level of the village
will be exalted and in that moment liberated from time. I want to cradle
the Earth in such a "festival".
On July 25, a festival !!
a festival for people and artists !!
who have "the spirit of festival in their hearts"!!
People who can gather 10 people, gather 10 people.
People who can gather 100 people, gather 100 people.
People who can gather 1,000 people, gather 1,000 people.
With a natural feeling, without trying excessively, realizing the concert,
the event, the prayers. In other words, would you like to hold a spirit
raising festival?
Driven by their desire to realize this festival, 60 to 70 artists and a
number of sponsors have also started planning concerts and events. I think
that even more festivals will be held in other countries throughout the
world, than will be held in Japan.
The soul of the festival has been lost. Festivals seem only to be held for
sightseeing purposes. Let's try to revive the spirit of festival! "Why did
festivals turn into mere sightseeing attractions?" Because the people have
lost touch with the "natural rhythm" within their daily lives.
The Gregorian calendar was enacted in 1582, and then the mechanical
timepiece was introduced making everyone's measurement of time the same.
Since then, the Industrial Revolution took place in Europe, followed by a
dramatic increase in the population of mankind from 500,000,000 people
then, to 6,000,000,000 people now.
Man-made urban civilization has gradually progressed mankind in a
direction in which we think less and less about the natural balance,
therefore facilitating this rapid increase in population. To live by this
man-made rhythm, man is rapidly shifting toward artificial values that are
held by man alone.
Present day agricultural methods are based on this artificial and
mechanical rhythm. Through the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers,
insects and weeds are no longer seen. We no longer watch the moon. Long
ago, when agriculture was based on a natural rhythm, farmers would look to
the moon and look at the weeds. Now, it is no longer necessary. People
believed that through the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers they
could reap a larger crop. They mistakenly believed that the chemical
fertilizers would increase their crops, and started to think that it was
no longer necessary to be appreciative of nature. However, recently many
children are suffering from a skin disease called "atopy" (atopic
dermatitis), also many people working in agriculture are no longer
healthy. The land, the soil itself, is losing it's energy. People are just
now becoming aware of this situation.
"We have stopped seeing that which should be seen hiding behind the grass,
that which should be seen within the tree, that which cannot be seen by
the eye, the universe."
For instance, there are many women with irregular menstrual cycles that
were able to achieve regular menstrual cycles just by watching the moon.
By feeling the natural rhythm, the natural rhythm of the physical body
also returns. By living according to the natural rhythm of the universe,
this rhythm gradually permeates your being, making it possible to do
things like understand what plants are saying.
Even through observing one flower, the universe can be known. At one time,
all people actually lived in such a way. Since the days when poetry books
called "manyoushuu" were commonly kept, Japanese would stare up at the
moon, look at the flowers in bloom, watch the snow and create such poems.
This was not done as a pastime, but was life itself. That is what it means
to live on this earth. Time is not money. Time is art.
If one does farming, through farming, one can feel a positive energy from
the universe. If one is in the medical profession, one can feel the
"correspondence" of the physical body with the universe. I think that
there may be a deep meaning to many of the things that are statistically
overlooked. Originally, man was aware of these minute details. By making
oneself aware of such subtle details, one can gain a better understanding
of something greater. In the same way, there is "correspondence" between
the movement of the universe and life. And people will be able to realize
it.
"Society no longer feels the nature of spirit."
The natural rhythm has been lost from people's hearts. And the recognition
that all is connected. In other words, a feeling of gratitude has
disappeared and along with it, people lost wisdom. That is to say, that
the spiritual climate in society that once fostered the festival was lost.
Being focused only on efficiency and monetary gain, Society has in the
process sacrificed matters of spirit.
But still, the Artists have the spirit of festival and it doesn't matter
if they do it consciously or unconsciously. They have the soul of the
"festival." Because of this belief, this festival has begun to progress.
If the true original form of "festival" exalted the collective spirit of
the village, thus changing the consciousness of the people, then
entertainment and art resulted from this. Now if artists with the soul of
the festival are serious, and this elevated spiritual level is shared by
their friends, then the consciousness of the people can be changed. Then
to make a festival from such an atmosphere should be very successful.
Before introducing the Gregorian calendar, 126 years ago, people in Japan
would face the sunrise each morning and clap their hands together and bow
in prayer for a moment before starting the days activities. They would
also admire the moon. Agricultural activities at that time would involve
observation of insects and weeds to predict the following day's weather,
along with prayer. When it came time to harvest the crops, they were
thankful to the land and sun, and everything being connected. At harvest
time, they would hold a thanksgiving festival out of a true feeling of
gratitude and appreciation.
The basis of public entertainment was the songs, dances, and so forth, of
"festivals" originating from within the spiritual climate of
"appreciation" for nature. For example, it was believed that farmers must
feel that it is because of the soil, the sun, and the air that they were
able to have a harvest. In other words, I think that they had a true
understanding that all is connected. Because they knew in their hearts
that only when all of these elements came together, would it be possible
to reap a harvest. Also, these festivals were held annually at harvest
time according to the natural dynamism. It can also be said that art was
being performed according to the universal rhythm.
Within the dynamism of nature and the function of society, "festivals"
played an important role of elevating the spiritual level of the entire
village and maintaining the spiritual balance.
I think that genuine art illuminates something spiritual and brings it
into people's daily lives. The purpose of the festival was to circulate
such matters of the spiritual world within the material world. However,
modern-day Japanese society has forgotten the role of art, the social
support function of festivals. As an example, Japanese society has
completely forgotten about the power of festivals to heal people's souls.
Society does not believe in such things because it has separated the mind
from the heart.
If society does not change, if people do not change their awareness, if
society does not make changes to gradually start to understand the meaning
of art, and the meaning of music, then Japan's regeneration in the 21st
century cannot be foreseen.
Festivals, art, and public entertainment are types of social support. Why
shouldn't artists create this festival while consciously thinking about
reclaiming this truth? If the desire to hold a festival is born, if
sympathy is learned, then let us start the festival together.
Let me know what you will be doing on July 25th,and where?
By all means, please join the festival on July 25, 1999.
Please title the "festival" (concert, event, party, or meeting) the "Day
Out of Time", or, subtitle it the "Day Out of Time".
Then, please let me know the location, the time, and the activities
planned. If you inform me of all of the information regarding your "Day
Out of Time" festival, I will, in return, keep you informed of the
locations, which artists will be playing, and the details of the
activities planned for all of the festivals.
You yourself, by creating a meaningful atmosphere, by giving your all to
raise people's spiritual levels from that location, and by consciously
sharing this feeling with many artists, will share a mutual feeling of
being connected to one another through the mutual experience of creating a
meaningful atmosphere and making a moment, "Out of Time". Would you like
to make it possible for people to share in this experience through the
elevated spiritual levels of your friends and the audience, and the birth
of moments "Out of Time" across the globe?
I would like to experience the feeling of exalted souls brought together
at various locations around the world, in moments
"Out of Time". This is the framework of the "Day Out of Time" festival.

On July 25, 1999,
then on July 25, 2000,
then again on July 25, 2001.
Would you like to continue the festival of "Day Out of Time" for these
three years? As for this year of 1999, there will be 100 to 500 of these
festivals held in Japan. A "festival" that will increase in scale every
year, ten-fold, then one-hundred-fold,
and it will continue multiplying like living cells.
People will naturally, without trying excessively, call out to those that
have the spirit of festival in their hearts. When the spirit of festival
naturally spreads from person to person and unifies them in spirit, when
this unification spreads throughout the world and each person shares a
defined vision; this is the goal of the "Day Out of Time" festival.
The artists that take the initiative to create a meaningful atmosphere
when holding their concerts (or festival), will surely become aware of
"time" and "location". We will start to feel and think about what is
necessary to facilitate the creation of an elaborate atmosphere and a
moment that will raise the awareness of the people. Then the people that
participate in this "festival" and raise their awareness together with the
artists, will not only be receptive to this exaltation of their awareness,
but will also begin to seek out art that raises their awareness. It is
then that the audience will begin to feel the true meaning of art again.
Won't people begin to seek the circulation of the spirit and phenomena? By
a slight shift in the awareness of the artist, isn't it possible to
foresee that the music scene will also change? Can't you see that the
people will begin to feel the meaning of the art again?
Through a change in the awareness of the people who organize traditional
festivals, "festivals" will be reborn from the current tourist
attractions, to something that has a soul. Can't you hear the footprints
of this transformation along with the sounds of the sacred "o-kagura"
(music and dance) of the 21st century? If this festival continues for
three years, if the spirit of this festival spreads, then the festival on
the third year, July 25, 2001, should become the festival to "Undo 2,000
Years".
To influence 120,000,000 Japanese. To influence all of the
6,000,000,000 people on the earth. While feeling the spirit of festival
arising within each person, wouldn't you like to begin to live tranquilly,
within nature, within the movement of the universe? If the people's
consciousness is connected, their prayers may have greater power.
I think that consciousness reformation is not just a change of values.
Instead, consciousness reformation is something experienced by those who
awaken to the more deeply embedded living rhythm that gave birth to those
values.
Feel the universal rhythm. Feel the lunar rhythm. Feel the seasons. Feel
the rhythm of the grass and the trees. Feel the beauty of the flowers.
Feel the message in the voices of the insects. Then, feel the rhythm of
their lives within the harvest. You will then feel that the harvest is a
result of the connections between life and nature.
In other words, come to know the meaning of the word "gratitude" as it was
used by people in the past. And hold a festival within that feeling of
gratitude. A "festival" is something that will make one "feel" the
dynamism of the universe, nature, and life. "Festivals" teach us the
feeling that all things are connected, are one, and by raising our
spiritual level through art, the doors of perception open.
Don't you think that if it is possible for several million people, tens of
millions of people, to "pray" at the same moment to synchronize their
prayer with the universal rhythm and the rhythm of the living body, that
the prayer has energy to cover the whole earth?
If, from the sense which the people felt in this "festival;" If a prayer
for the Earth is born; If it was not a festival for sightseeing until now,
but the "festival" reborn in the ceremony of a "prayer" for the new earth,
I must feel a great meaning in this "festival", and in the change of
consciousness of the people which is born from this "festival", in this
age when the environmental pollution on a global scale continues to
increase, where the communication which didn't exist in the history of
mankind, the big "correspondence", may be born from Japan.
I think that the new aim of the "festival" and art comes out of the
exchange of the energy of the heart, then the festival at that time causes
the people's life to be socially supported in human society. The
"festival" makes a circulation of the spirit and phenomena in the dynamism
of the natural rhythm, and allows a constant reformation of consciousness.
I feel that the "festival" lives the Earth as Gaia, which is the Earth as
a living being. I hope I will feel it with all of you.
